Tucson Architects Highlight Desert View with Carter Glass Tile

For Immediate Release:  Nestled in the mountains of Tucson, Arizona this modern desert home, designed by Ibarra Rosano Design Architects of Tucson, displays Carter Glass Mosaic tile in both the stylish outdoor pool and inside the powder room.

The Carter tile color “Pale Denim” was utilized in the home’s powder room and pool, and “Night Black” was used as an accented black stripe through the center of the pool. Approximately 200 square feet of mesh-backed tile was installed in the powder room and over 1,000 square feet in the state-of-the-art lap pool.

According to Ibarra Rosano architects Luis Ibarra and Teresa Rosano, Carter Glass Mosaic tile, imported by Hakatai Enterprises, Inc., provided a “monolithic feeling and interest without being ornate.”

“In the powder room, Carter tile is on the floor, ceiling and two opposing walls while the other two end walls are glass – a sandblasted sliding glass door on the inside and a large window facing the valley and city on the outside,” said Teresa Rosano. “The tiled ‘tube’ effect created focuses the view and makes the small space very dramatic.”

She added: “We chose the Carter Glass Mosaic colors to reflect hues of the distant sky and mountains.”

The home was constructed by Repp Design + Construction, also based in Tucson. Ibarra Rosano described the powder room ceiling tile installation to be the most difficult, however the Carter Glass Mosaic user-friendly size and mesh-backing made the task achievable with a rewarding result.

“Hakatai was helpful as usual. They simply have quick personal service and a great product,” said Rosano.
